Fr. Tadeusz Dajczer (1931–2009)
Fr. Tadeusz Dajczer was a Polish Catholic priest, theologian and scholar of comparative religion — a pioneer of the Catholic, phenomenological study of religions in Poland. He graduated from the theological faculty in Warsaw and continued his studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome. For many years he was a professor at the Academy of Catholic Theology, later the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University (UKSW) in Warsaw, where he founded and headed the study of comparative religion.
Alongside his academic work, the true passion of his life was the ministry of the confessional and spiritual direction. He was a much sought-after spiritual director and established groups of interior life; one of them initiated, in 1985, the Families of Nazareth Movement, present today on five continents.
He died in Warsaw on 8 September 2009 and is buried in the parish cemetery in Pruszków near Warsaw. Annual academic symposia devoted to his life, scholarship and spiritual writings have been held since 2015 — you can find their programmes and recordings on this website.

The Gift of Faith
His best-known book, published in Polish in 1992 as Rozważania o wierze, became a worldwide bestseller of Christian spirituality: it has been translated into some 28 languages, with more than 170,000 copies sold in Poland and over 140,000 in other countries. In English it is available as The Gift of Faith (also published under the title Inquiring Faith).
Meditations on the Eucharist
The author’s spiritual legacy is most fully revealed in Meditations on the Eucharist — the series of short books on the interior life and the Eucharist which he wrote in his final years. In English the series is available both as individual volumes (The Mystery of Faith, Amazing Nearness, Increase Our Faith) and as a complete two-volume edition prepared by Fr. Bryan Storey: Amazed by This Love and God’s Loving Presence.

This website presents the life, thought and writings of Fr. Tadeusz Dajczer: a detailed biography, his theological and religious-studies legacy, all his books, recordings from five academic symposia, and “Głos i słowo” (“Voice and Word”) — an audio companion to his book Ewangeliczny radykalizm (“Gospel Radicalism”).
The book grew out of homilies Fr. Dajczer preached between 1991 and 1994. The portal brings the two together: each of its twenty-one chapters is paired with the recording behind it, so you can read a chapter and hear the voice it came from. Every recording carries a full transcript synchronised with the audio — click any sentence and playback starts at that point — and a search box covers all the texts at once.
